Never buy a telescope from Wal-Mart, Costco, Target, or this kind of store!

I recommend you to join a local astronomy club or astronomical society before you leave your money on a frame. There are many different types of areas and what one person to another is not completely perfect. Each has its own set of eyeballs and no two are identical. When you join a club you can get some groups of stars and to test areas to see what works best for you before you buy a scope. Members can also help if your scope and show you how to inform you get the most out of your new scope and help to show where the treasure is in heaven. Most clubs have areas ready and extensive libraries, which receive more information. Most clubs have been monthly meetings with members of the briefing by the members and guest speakers. You can really learn a lot from the clubs and more are added all the great friends you made there. Go to this site to find a club near you. http: / / www.astroleague.org / offices / lis ...
This is only clubs from the National League of astronomy, there are many more that are not on this list. Also, the Google search engine, if you do not see one here in your area.

There are different types of telescopes and all have excellent qualities. Refractors and reflectors and Schmidt-Cassegrain, APO, Mac, Cass, and much more. There are also several rises and rises to choose is just as important if not more, important that the scope is. All the different fields and mounts are a few features that some people like and dislike. No two eyes are the same and the ideal environment for one person may be completely wrong for others.

It is an area of "better" than the other out, except in areas --- garbage that it is a waste of money. Never, ever buy from Wal-Mart, Costco, Target and other discounters like that. Unwanted areas are flooded in the market for shopping. This will buy something but ill and optical plastic.

If you're new at this, so stay away from all that are used everywhere. If you do not know what they are buying and what you buy is probably a headache --- someone without liability. Some quotes for the equipment used here are from people who know how to use and care of the fields, but if you know what you can do a lot of money for worthless trash. Improper cleaning can destroy an area. Buyer Beware.

I recommend: http://oriontelescopes.com/

Orion is the best for value and customer service. I have 3 of their scope and I will buy from them from now on. My first zone will be under manual control and I am very glad that it is because they had experienced forced me to know where we stand in the night sky. Go-To field type can be frustrating to use. If you are not exactly perfect, there are no targets. If you are a beginner, you will be disappointed if you spring for a GPS-Go-To. An object locator is jBinoculars Binos, because if they are not properly aligned at the factory, then get ghosting and distortion that can not be repaired. Most cheap binoculars are not aligned properly. This is not so important, especially for terrestrial, but a killer for astronomical observations. Binos can also be disposed of alignment and useless for astronomy.

When shopping, go Orion and you will not be disappointed. Try not learn everything at once, or you will be excited and discouraged. Patience is the key to astronomy.

You need a good program to map and the stars.

This free software is great that you can download. Tell us where you are and say what you see. We ask that if something is, and will show you.

I wish him all the best.
